New Rankings: Best Montgomery County Public High Schools

Niche has released its list of the best public high schools in America for 2025.

One Montgomery County school, Lower Merion High School, was ranked seventh in the state of Pennsylvania and number one in Montgomery County.

Here are the top 10 best high schools in Montgomery County, according to Niche.

  • 10. Methacton HS.
  •  9. North Penn Senior HS.
  •  8. Upper Merion HS.
  •  7. Upper Dublin HS.
  •  6. Lower Moreland HS.
  •  5. Plymouth-Whitemarsh Senior HS.
  •  4. Spring-Ford Senior HS.
  •  3. Wissahickon Senior HS.
  •  2. Harriton Senior HS.
  •  1. Lower Merion HS.

Niche says the latest rankings are based on "rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Factors include teacher quality, high school ratings, college readiness, state test scores, and graduation rates (click here for more on methodology).

This year's rankings do not consider SAT/ACT scores "to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process.
